Re-Tired Swimwear and Debris-Free Bag

These bike tires come with natural light reflectors: the blinding white legs of a native Portlander. Taylor hand sewed this 1950’s style suit and bathing cap completely out of used bike inner tubes, using finely cut tubing as thread. Bike inner tubes are one of Portland’s most common and useful discards. Her Debris-Free beach bag is made from ironed plastic bags and 6-pack rings because 99% of the world’s beach debris is plastic. The tossed flowers are for your bicycles (flowers were tossed into the audience), so when you’re riding through Portland’s winter rain you can dream of the beach.
