Something Old, Something New
In an effort to create something completely waste-free in the image of something which is typically quite wasteful (a dress worn once), this wedding gown is 100% plastic newspaper bags- woven, ironed and tied. The outfit includes bags from The Oregonian, The New York Times and The Register Guard. In compliance with the Old English saying, the dress includes:
Something old: used newspaper bags
Something new: bags were used to create something new
Something borrowed: bags were collected from all of my newspaper-subscribing friends
Something blue: New York Times bags
…and plenty of tied knots.
