Artist
and arts professor Éneas Valle invited me to teach reuse techniques and
experiment with plastic cups in one of his fine arts classes at the Federal
University of Rio de Janeiro. I taught plastic ironing and we heated plastic
cups. A heat gun would have been useful, but we were unable to get out hands
on one. Regardless, we were able to make some interesting shapes but concluded
that the plastic cups are too brittle to be sustainably reused with the materials
we had. If plastic cups were mixed with lower density plastic, they could be
more easily reused.

convidada por artista e professor Enéas Valle a dar oficina e fazer experiências
com copos de plástico numa aula de belas artes na UFRJ. Ensinei uma técnica
com ferro quente e sacolas de plástico, e esquentamos copos de plástico.
Não conseguimos um soprador, que ia ser útil. Mas no final decidimos
que os copos são frágil demais para ser reaproveitados com as
ferramentas que a gente teve. Seria mais fácil reaproveitá-las
se fossem feitos com plástico de uma densidade mais baixa.
